Monica WeissPlease help save our beautiful mountains from overdevelopment!
Elaine LiteWe need protection for our mountains before they are destroyed.
Rachael FisherSTOP MOUNTAIN DEVELOPMENT NOW!
Lisa KrolakI live in Polk county. Several hundred active citizens have formed a coalition for saving our slopes and countryside. 1000's of people have diplayed a shared concern via petitions signed. These same people are likely to join the coalition or at least support it. Please listen to the masses who would like to be proactive and save our prestine moutnains for future generations. Thank you. Lisa Krolak
Gayle JannWe need to control development. There are many problems building on steep slopes including erosion, loss of visual beauty, loss of wildlife habitat, and storm runoff.
Karen BoekschotenI am an Asheville native, who moved back to the area from southern California because my children had never seen a forest. A good premise for the very real concern about over development in our mountains is a book called "The Ecology of Fear" with photos of Southern California - once a wooded tourist destination. It not only CAN happen here, it is happening here.
suzannah tebbe davisAs a concerned global citizen, I am dismayed at the destruction of nature and our ridgetops going on in Western North Carolina. I am a health care practitioner and see the health of Asheville residents declining, autism, allergies and ashma skyrocketing, and species disappearing. Please do all that you can to ban ridegetop development and save our slopes!

Stephen Rossi'm saddened to see the area i grew up in, going down so fast. Condos, 250 Unit Towne Homes, Ridge raping is what i call it. I say STOP all building, until we see that all these Units that are in progress and finished are occupied, now that most Manufactures have closed, where do all these people work? Is Asheville turning into another Retirement resting place like Boone,Hendersonville,Tryon and other North Carlonia small towns?

R. D. MeltonAlready rich developers and wealthy, retiring "boomers" should not be allowed to get richer and further deplete resources without some ENFORCED rules limiting their intusion into the mountains.

Lei ViceThe very reason people are moving here is being destroyed right before our eyes and alot of people don't even bat an eye! MONEY$$$$ That's all they seem to see or care about. It's obvious the developers don't live here. It's crazy to me when people that were born and raised here can no longer afford to live here.
Dion Vice
Joyce E. HunterThe houses they are building are too big and close together. The owners may have a good view from the mountains, but the view looking up at the mountains is horrible.

Morgan OstertagAs a resident of Asheville, NC I do feel strongly about saving our slopes. I would never have known about this petition if it hadn't been advertised. I want to thank those putting forth the effort to save our beautiful mountains.

AnonymousI never heard of this until I moved to Kentucky and I am so mad that they even do that in NC.
Trevor JohnsonAs a future student of App State University, and a citizen in a community that is demolishing mountain-sides one by one, I believe strongly in the moratorium and save our slopes actions.
