102 Stephen Rossi'm saddened to see the area i grew up in, going down so fast. Condos, 250 Unit Towne Homes, Ridge raping is what i call it. I say STOP all building, until we see that all these Units that are in progress and finished are occupied, now that most Manufactures have closed, where do all these people work? Is Asheville turning into another Retirement resting place like Boone,Hendersonville,Tryon and other North Carlonia small towns?

112 Linda SnyderAs a person who left Asheville as a youth and returned as a retiree thirty five years later..it is so important in my eyes to save these beautiful mountains. We are so blessed to have them, they are a part of us. In my opinion, we can't afford to lose them....whatever the cost.
113 AnonymousOur mountains must be save at any costs.

127 ty gilpinAs a Christian it is my duty to stop the developments and destruction of God's creation.
128 Cheryl OrengoWe have had to listen and watch hundreds of trees falling down (with more to come) behind our home in Kenilworth because of the new Beaucatcher Heights development on Beaucatcher Mountain. the trees came down for required, wide, city streets! Cheryl Orengo

132 John E. CramBeing somewhat aware of what governments are doing, I cannot help but wonder if we have waited too long to wake up. I talked about Asheville's inevitable growth 10 years ago when I 26 was being extended to Tenn. We were to be "x-ed". "X" marks the spot, like on a pirates map. Pirates don't fill environmental impact statements. This analogy created 10 years ago, was meant to be humorous years agoand yet provocative. But now its deadly serious times we live in.

135 Kristen McKinleyOur mountains and our lives need to be protected from the horrible effects of overdevelopment. We need laws that will ban ridgetop development and enforce other development laws. Early settlers moved to the mountains because of the serenity and beauty. This holds true for many people today. Local residents do not want to see their cherished environment destroyed by unregulated development. Tourists do not travel here to look at the condos and mansions occupying ridges. Overdevelopment is detrimental to the tourist industry and the health of the environment and public.

141 Chris RobertsI am a seven-generation native of Western NC and I am deeply concerned over the raping of the land by overzealous developers that think only of money and nothing of what we are losing. Our local politicians are the only ones with the power to curb this problem. Enough is enough.
