Name: Paul McCormac on Jan 8, 2004State:Country: UKComments: There is an article in Jan 2004 MBR magazine outlining research on the impact (or lack of!) of off road riding on the environment in terms of trail erosion, destruction of plants and wildlife distrubance. It may be useful for your case to the local MP. Good luckFlag

Name: Emma Mitchell on Jan 10, 2004State: VACountry: USComments: I grew up getting into trouble in the wilder spots of Ashdown Forest including cycling back from school even when I wasn't supposd to. I have always wanted biking to be allowed and see no reason why it shouldn't. My suggestion is to try and get some recognised trails rather than general 'ride where you will' particluarly if this allows connection between N and S downs as part of the new cycle ways that are developing. Good Luck!Flag

I live near the forest and am dangerously close to starting "civil disobedience" by starting to cycle these tracks any way!!Flag
