Name: Ann Kennedy on Sep 26, 2007Comments: This project is especially egregious in that the developers made no effort to contact or involve neighbors, likely because they knew well what the response would be -- given they are West University residents!!!! The fact that they somehow circumvented City procedures to construct sewer lines in a clandestine manner to accommodate their proposed project on City streets raises even more serious issues about the developers and involved city officials.Flag

We do not have the number of residents and financial backing as you, but I feel we need to support each other.Flag

Name: J Elkins on Sep 26, 2007Comments: There are so few beautiful areas in this huge city that it is madness to allow the kind of high-rise development proposed at 1717 Bissonnet. The neighborhood it sits in should be protected so that everyone can enjoy the character of these lovely streets and their many old homes - large and small. Why should any individual's quest for enormous profits be put before the views of local residents We should all be trying to preserve areas like Southampton and Boulevard Oaks, not scarring them with buildings out of scale and character with surrounding homes.Flag

Name: Kathryn Wilson on Sep 26, 2007Comments: I regularly drive back and forth on Bissonnet near this planned development. The traffic can become backed up very quickly. This development would make a barely tolerable traffic situation a true nightmare.Flag

Name: Shelby Baetz on Sep 26, 2007Comments: I live in Boulevard Oaks and work downtown. I often take Bissonnett to Montrose or San Jacinto to go downtown. Currently there is significant traffic on Bissonnett during morning drive time or rush hour. If the Ashby High Rise was built as originally planned the traffic would be unbearable gridlock.Flag

Name: Anonymous on Sep 26, 2007Comments: As a BOCA resident and homeowner, we are horrified by the idea that a highrise would be built on BIssonnet which is already full of traffic and is getting worse as more construction occurs in the neighborhood. We will fight to keep HOMEOWNERS rights and priorities at the forefront and preserve that which a developer wants to capture - in their pocketbook - before moving on to their next project.Flag

Name: Katherine Hoang on Sep 26, 2007Comments: I am strongly opposed to the construction of any high rise being built in our neighborhood. The history and charm of neighborhood is what makes our neighborhood one of the most sought after places to live in Houston. If the city allows the Ashby High Rise project or anything similar to be constructed, it can expect millions of dollars in property value and the revenue the county receives from this wonderful neighborhood plumet. Our neighborhood streets will be inundated with heavy traffic. Particularly Bissonnet & Ashby. When drivers get impatient, the traffic overflow will spill into other neighborhood streets and alley ways. Our alley ways have been in need for repairs for years and the city has declined to service them and to add any additional volume of traffic will only increase more damage them. This project will severely degrade everything about our wonderful neighborhood.Flag
