Comments: this is absolutely ridiculous £10000 thats just not feasable, i thought i was coming out of uni with enough debt and thats just roughly £20000 so this would more than double that end debt!!

Comments: Why the Increase in Tuition Fees. Why Restrict many from getting Educated As Desired. Be Fair & Give All A Chance Of Study. Hence, reducing the number of Criminals.

Comments: A removal of the cap on tuition fees (or even a massive, though still capped, rise) may prevent the "brain drain" (Telegraph, 13.11.09) that Lord Mandelson appears to be so concerned by - by preventing some of the brightest young people in the UK from achieving the qualifications they would need in order to be attractive to the US as academics. Young people do not generally want to come out of university with huge debt; and almost all students are poor. Students are over 18, and many parents are not prepared to financially support their adult off-spring. Yes, some degrees can lead to some highly-paid jobs, and to those individuals in such jobs, a debt of £60,000 may not seem so daunting. However, many degrees do not lead to a specific position - e.g: archaeology; history; english; sociology - is Lord Mandelson suggesting that the only degrees worth studying for are those, like medicine and law, which have a direct application to a high-paid job-role There are also degrees, like social work, which lead directly to a job-role that is not so highly paid - as a social work student with a disability, I would not be able to study if I were going to come out of university with a huge debt.

Comments: I strongly believe that if UK and International Students are going to benefit from an otherwise excellent education system, fees need to be capped at current levels for the forseeable future. Especially in regard to UK students, it is important that those that are able, are enabled. Without a strongly educated workforce, the UK will lose its ability to compete on the world stage in commerce, politics and most other international ventures. Some potential students may seek higher education - and employment - abroad, simply to avoid extortionate prices at home! Sort it out!!!!

Comments: Why is our government trying to strangle our country If tuition fees are raised this will result in the majority of the population being unable to go to university as the majority of the population are working class and won’t be able to afford extravagant aspects of this nature. Surely the more people that have higher qualifications the more refined and better our country becomes. If we have a lot less educated people in our country then things such as crime rates will rise, more people will be forced to rely on hand outs from the government which will lead to a big downward spiral for everyone. This is a ludicrous idea – we need to give them a wake up call!
