Name: Matt Carlson on Jul 19, 2011Comments: Artwalk is the only event that will get me to drive 20+ miles to dtla. It is a gem event in dtla and the city should have an interest in keeping this event going and safe.Flag

Name: Megan Rank on Jul 19, 2011Comments: Closing the street will not only prevent the car vs. pedestrian nature of this popular event, but will also encourage more participants to come out and enjoy the evening. This event brings a lot of attention and visitors to Downtown - it is important that swift and sure action should be taken to reassure event attendees after the tragic accident that occured last week. Don't delay in making a decision or taking action - protect Art Walk and honor the baby who lost his life.Flag

Name: Melissa Falchini on Jul 19, 2011Comments: Close the streets! It's the safe & responsible thing to do. It will also encourage people to take the metro or bus to the Art Walk and eliminate much of the parking hassle the Art Walk creates in downtown.Flag

Name: Shana Nys Dambrot on Jul 19, 2011Comments: This is a good idea and a long time coming. It's incredibly sad that it took this tragedy to perhaps revisit it seriously, but here we are. It's too late for that family, but we can still take action.Flag

Name: Anonymous on Jul 19, 2011Comments: I cannot believe that the streets are not already closed for the Art Walk. People are literally everywhere, and drinking. I am surprised no one has been hurt before. There's no absulute need to have the main streets of the event open to traffic after the initial couple hours of the event (after people have left their jobs in the area). Find alternatives to the parking situation, and please close the main streets.Flag

Name: Ron Babcock on Jul 19, 2011Comments: I think downtown LA can survive a small street closure for a few hours once a month. It will not only increase safety for Art Walk participants, but also improve the Art Walk experience by making it more open for pedestrians. With the revitalization of downtown, the Art Walk is only going to increase in popularity. Closing the streets is a sensible request.Flag
