6138 Desiree NavaCAI fully support this petition as an artist myself. I believe that through art, we are inspired and encouraged to dream. Art defines what it means to be human, to create is universal. We all have the ability to appreciate what ties the world together as one.

6142 Jeff CamishMAArtist of all disciplines are essential to the nurturing of spirituality and humanity in our society.aplease initiate public work of art, not by high priced, already established artists, but artists within communities who would be happy to work for the cost of materials and a small stipend for survival. Too often the commissions are awarded using the flawed capitalists criteria and go to the art establishments blue chip artists, I have no idea of how funds could be distributed, but maybe there should be a cap on the cost of individual projects to avoid both unreasonable expense and the alienation of the general public who are justifiably offended by high priced public art. It is my belief that artists should be paid wages in line with other craftmen and that art should not be subject to speculative investment, that way art can become something everyone can afford and that the public will be able to view and respond to all kinds of art without anger and bias.
