So gay marriage is now legal. Why? Because other people have no right to judge a person based on who they are. Tattoos, piercings and unnatural hair colors are part of who somebody is, so why is it legal to discriminate against somebody in the workplace just because they are who they are? Long before gay marriage was legalized, it was already illegal to discriminate based on a person's sexuality. Why, if we aren't allowed to tell a person they can't have a job based on who they like, are we allowed to tell the same person that they can't have a job because their hair is blue? Yes, it is true that some people will refuse to give their business to a group that employs such people, but homophobes do the same thing to businesses that openly hire gay people, so what difference is there? We as a country have decided that it is not right to judge people based on their sexuality, that's the difference. The fact that we have made a step forward in one area but not the other. If a person refuses to do business with someone because they don't like the color of the person's hair, then that is their loss. If a business decides to steal the right of individuality from a person because they're scared of losing money, well, now we're selling other people's rights away. LITERALLY. Isn't that unconstitutional, to sell somebody's rights away like that?
