Encourage the FWISD to vote FOR respecting the distinct quality and history of AHHS
Arlington Heights High
School (c. 1936) was designed by Preston M. Geren
and built by Butch and Sweeney. The red
brick Georgian Revival building is a place of pride for its alumni and current
students. The building features a
3-story façade flanked by 2-story wings with 1-story arcades. When the building was completed it received
much attention in the local press, and in 1940 it was featured in the
publication, Texas Architecture. The school has undergone several expansions,
and designating AHHS an Historic & Cultural Landmark will not only protect
the building from demolition, it will also ensure that future expansions or
alterations respect the historic architectural design of the building. PLEASE CHOOSE THE HISTORY TAB AFTER CLICKING ON SUPPORTING LINK.
