One example of the burden on families who could walk to ASF is that their children ride the bus home from Taylor and get home 45 minutes to 1 hour after dismissal time.Flag

Walking to school is a significant part of addressing childhood obesity. Please consider this when making these difficult choicesFlag

Name: Elizabeth H. Hayes on Feb 22, 2013Comments: It makes absolutely no sense to redistrict with the effect of forcing families who live within walking distance of near Taylor School to be moved to another district. It is unfair to the students and parents who currently attend Taylor School. It also defeats the concept of a "neighborhood school". Many of us bought homes in this area to enable our children to attend Taylor School.Flag

Name: Janie Chuang on Feb 23, 2013Comments: We live within a block of ASFS, but will likely have to attend Taylor due to the lack of slots under the lottery system. It seem quite unfair that the neighborhood zoned for Taylor is further away from ASFS than we are. We would much prefer to have our kids attend a school that we can literally see through the windows of our home, rather than have them attend a school a bus-ride away. It makes no rational sense to have ASFS not be included in the boundary review process.Flag
