Comments: I think archery would be really fun to include in my school. It's not too manly, nor is it too unmanly. I'd love to learn how to handle a bow and arrow, school or not.

Comments: Only wish I knew you 10 years ago. My daughter, a United States Archery Team member, has had to travel to VA for the last 10 years due to Montgomery County's indifference despite the fact that this sport is the most inclusive and safest one in the country!!

Comments: I attend Walter Johnson High School in Bethesda. I have been involved in Olympic archery for almost 9 years. I am a member of the United States Archery Team and have participated in two Youth World Championships and a Pan American Championships as part of the US team. I spend about 40 hours a week training however I do so in Centreville, VA because Montgomery Co. does not facilitate any suitable target archery facilities. People travel to Centreville to shoot and learn to shoot as far as northern Baltimore. According to USA Archery, the demand to try archery, especially among young girls, has risen exponentially within the past year after the 2012 Summer Olympics and movies like the Hunger Games, Avengers, and Brave hit the theaters. I have heard many rumblings of interest within the county by friends but they are turned away form the sport once they realize there are no local solutions to try it out.
