Archery is fun, easy to learn, safe and one of the most inclusive sports around. If you live in Montgomery County, however, it's very hard to find an archery program. The members of Girl Scout Troop 518 have had the opportunity to learn archery through scouting activities, and want to share it with everyone by asking Montgomery County Recreation and Montgomery County Public Schools to add archery to PE curriculum and create after school archery programs through the National Archery in the Schools Program (NASP). Students all over the US and in other Maryland counties are already enjoying archery with the support of NASP. The cost to start the activity is around $3000 and the instructor training is free for teachers.
