Don Toromanoff | The Arch Cafe is part of the Architecture School experience at McGill and without it, the lower floor would become disconnected from the rest of the school. Also, at this point, I don't believe that any future replacement would be popular with the students.

Jennifer Lofgreen | Small, student-run operations on campus should be encouraged, not eliminated. These groups of students breathe a life into the community that Starbucks and Chartwells would never match. To shut the Cafe down or turn it into just another generic coffee shop would be a terrible mistake.
Miguel Nunes | I see no reason why this cafeteria has to close. I've seen members of staff patronizing it just as much as students, and from various departments across campus. If I wanted overpriced, small-portioned food, I'd go to the Engineering cafeteria, which is run by the people who are itching to take over the architecture cafe. I definitely won't buy food from any Chartwell's or Sodexho in the future.

Sameer Apte | The decision of Mcgill to engage in this type of a corporate partnership has always been heavily disfavored by the student community. I will not allow another installment of horrible food, and monopolization of my campus. Chartwells, and what they stand for erases the diveristy of student culture that can be found in its niche cafes and privately owned cafeterias. Save the architecture cafe, and preserve the student culture.

Caitlin Myles | Even on a different continent, I find it thoroughly depressing and disheartening that the McGill administration is trying to close one of the most unique student-run endeavours on campus, showing characteristically blatant disregard for the opinions of the student body. Some of my best memories of undergrad are of the Architecture Cafe, and to deprive future students of this pleasure in an attempt to further "corporatize" the university would be a shame.
Andrea Sipos | For once, McGill administration should listen to the students.

Allison Stockley | As a McGill Alumni, I am very saddened to here that The Architecture cafe may be closing. As a student for 5 years (2001-2006), the cafe was an integral part of my student life on campus and a necessary alternative to the corporate run chartwells cafeterias. If McGill loses the Architecture cafe, as an autonomous student venture, it is at a great detriment to the student community. I hope that McGill put's its students before dollars.
Samuel Feinson | Architecture Cafe was one of the most comfortable places to grab a cup of coffee and a tasty zatar while I was a student. It's the personable, cozy, friendly nature of the place that kept me coming back (plus the 50 cent coffee). Student cafes are a great way to make students feel a tie to the campus, as well as to keep money circulating within the McGill community. The administration should show some loyalty to its own students and a dedication to keeping the more personable aspects of the university in place.
Ger Zielinski | McGill should be encouraging more successful student-run initiatives such as the Architecture Cafe, not turning student spaces into private franchises!
Paul Sutton | Maybe the administration should recall that the university is in fact ours, and we should have autonomy over starting and maintaining our own services which are actually more responsive to our own needs than contracted-out-to-multi-million-dollar-organization outlets, yo.
