Name: Anonymous on Mar 26, 2007Comments: This proposed expansion is not good for the community. It is short term thinking that is further exporting the health and future of viable Nova Scotia communities to remote regions (corporate America) where there is little to no concern for the sustainability of life.Flag

I have already come to cherish my new community and I look forward to many years of being able to raise my family here!!Flag

Name: John Abati on Mar 28, 2007Comments: The Proposed Mine Expansion is directly in the Heart of the Headwaters of the Peninsula's water supply. Wells, water supplies, streams and rivers may go dry or become contaminated due to deforestation, excavation and expolration. The expansion is a short term economic gain, at the expence of long term water supply and sustainablility for the peninsula. I OPPOSE the Mine expansion West of Ferry Road. Thank you, John Abati 902-404-6322 watershedwatcher@hotmail.comFlag

Name: Michael Aitkens on Apr 16, 2007Comments: In an age such as this where humans must take on full responsibility for the preservation of the planet for providence, I am shocked that elected members representing our local region are wavering on a decision as important as this. To even question a move such as this one represents the uncaring and cold-heartedness which have brought us to the brink we are now at. I would like to urge those who have the responsibility which comes from the power given to them to build and not destroy that which is a gift to all humankind.Flag

Name: Lillian MacLeod on Apr 17, 2007Comments: My sympathy to you folks in your battle.Government agencies seem to be at the root of problems in our communities. My issue here is sewage lagoons that operated for 30 yrs dumping into our water ,all the while we were unaware of their existence. The Deputy Minister , William Lahey, Dept of Environment ordered an independent review into how his officials handled our situation after continous pressure from me showing how they were violating their own legislation. It is called the Doelle Austin report. It is scathing .It can be obtained on the Sierra Club web site. Good luck!Flag

Real sin when we give someone the power and they can`t direct it in a manner to look out for all of us. We keep letting things like this happen we should just call the USA and offer them the land and we can all move to a third world country. That is were we are all heading ......Flag
