Comments: I and my wife Nutan have recently filed a writ petition in Hon'ble Allahabad High Court, Lucknow Bench challenging the validity of section 66A of the Information Technology Act 2000 as being too broad and vague so as to be misused and abused by powerful and influential people and being against Fundamental Right to expression under Article 19(1)(a) and other rights related with life and liberty. This is our salute to the young Mumbai girl Shaheen Dadha and to the great efforts being carried by Ms Vinita Deshmukh. Amitabh Thakur Lucknow

Comments: Just because a Shiv Sena leader complaint Polic arrest girls on a harmless comment. That also in the night. Anti-social elements roam around Mumbai without any hesitation but you arrest two law abiding citizens on nonsensical charges. Does the Maharashtra Police have any shame? Are the police illiterate?

Comments: Our second fundamental right is right to freedom which includes both freedom of speech and freedom of expression. Obviously section 66 A of the IT Act is unconstitutional and must be repealed forthwith. We have always been a country where civil liberties have been taken for granted. Let us not start becoming narrow and dogmatic in the 21st Century. It does not become us.

Comments: Honorable Sir, The police in the Indian states need to reformed as they seem to serve only the political class and the bribe givers. The administration including the police is nasty to say the least. To deter the illegal acts of the police like the ones witnessed recently the personnel need to be dismissed immediately. Decent compensation may be paid the traumatized girls & Ravi Srinivasan.

Comments: It is important that section clearly defines as what is offensive and menacing and it must not infringe upon the right of a citizen to express his/her independent opinion or dissent on issues which generally effect the society. Simple expression of an opinion can not be construed as a menacing message. Are v an educated society or v r heading towards a fascist regime which can pick up any citizen any time for expressing their independent opinions on social networking sites. The social net working sites are personal in nature and communicate with a group or network of individuals. No Govt or establishment should have any right to directly or indirectly intervene in such exchange of thoughts. If such like things happen then v may become prisoners of our own thoughts. Establishment may pick up all the Facebook members for all of them at one time or other have expressed in no uncertain terms their dissent on various issues afflicting our society in general and country at large.
