Comments: if he can get away with slander for one event that he totally misconstrued, then America should sponsor cheating, not paying taxes, vandalism, stealing, and child pornography, because all of these actions are in my opinion just as disgusting as what he's done, and what he's convinced the public... remember kids: vote democrat in 08...and make sure it isn't Hilary...

Comments: The controversy surrounding this CWA panel has reached an unnecessary climax and is still escalating. Many jump to conclusions after listening to the bias opinion of Mr O'Reilly, but fail to take the time to research accurate facts or read the full content of the "STDs: Sex, Teens, and Drugs" transcript. Those attending the conference are mature young adult high school students and many undermine their capability to filter out the unethical opinions of others. Students at this age have the ability to choose between what is right and wrong. High School students have reached an age in which they must build and strengthen their ability to decide and think for themselves, and this CWA panel only serves as an example of the situations that students will encounter later on in their future. If students are continually sheltered, they will not be able to survive in the real world outside the supervision of their parents. Although this panel may have been fairly one-sided, it is not the job of the school administration or the teachers to shelter them from encountering such view points. It must also be taken into account that a majority of the students had in fact, not attended the panel, for many teachers decided to hold class, especially as upcoming AP tests quickly approached. The opinions, whether they be ethical or not, were not heard by most students until Mr O'Reilly decided to exaggerate and broadcast his inaccurately supported opinion to his over two million viewers. The Boulder Valley School District has taken measures to prevent a one-sided pannel in the future as well as put stronger emphasis on the already existing option for students to opt-out from CWA panels.

Comments: If Mr. O'Reilly were any kind of journalist, he'd read the transcript and understand how horribly those clips have been taken out of context. The Factor's reporters and producers have violated the privacy of School Board Members and grossly underrepresented the facts. Despite several attempts by people such as Mr. Kopel, he clearly has no understanding of the CWA. Many of the students at this panel did not agree with and some did not like that it was there. We are not all like-minded. But to attack the community of Boulder and tie this incident to things such as Jean Bennet Ramsey is tenuous at best. Boulder is a diverse community, not one of "liberal loons." Please, Mr. O'Reilly try to show some professionalism and own up to your mistakes. You owe it to your viewers who trust you.
