Residents of Edgewood Maryland, to include surrounding communities, request schedule and notification of detonations be made public for quality of life initiatives. The community of Edgewood supports the operations and mutual co-location to the community of Harford County, and greater Maryland. In return we ask that Aberdeen Proving Ground, to include Edgewood operations area, respect the privacy of local county residents by providing a public schedule of detonations so that we may plan and adjust our lives accordingly. On April 19th, three large explosions shook homes in the area and was even reported being felt as far as Delaware. While these were stated to have occurred in "remote areas", the magnitude and sheer disruption shook house and in some cases caused items to fall. This was not the only occurrence of such explosions, but one of the most disruptive in recent years. Residents, who support our military facilities, request future notice of detonations. This does not include live-fire small arms weapons and units, as this is part of daily operations and produces substantially less residential disruption. Working together with our local Department of Defense facilities and residential communities will continue to foster support and mutual respect for both residents and workers on APG/Edgewood PG.
