Name: Aaron Joshua on Aug 22, 2010Comments: This ban on Parkour is not only unfair, but has spawned from a general ignorance of the discipline. Many people see it as kids being stupid, reckless, wild and dangerous, when in reality it is not. Parkour is a form of personal growth, discipline, physical endurance, and a good social activity and exercise tool. It would be the same as jogging in the park with a friend, or practicing Tai Chi in a field. Traceurs do not break, disrupt, or in any way harm their surroundings, other people or damage personal, or city owned property. Please reconsider the ban.Flag

Name: Max Eisenberg on Aug 22, 2010Comments: dont do this, this is a good movement. its not reckless or damaging like extreme sports, we arent out to damage the walls we use to train. we strive to never be hurt so we can train the next day, dont treat parkour the same as extreme sports because it isnt even close.Flag

Name: Nick Coco on Aug 22, 2010Comments: These parks have become a part of life for the people that use them. It doesn't matter if you use them for jogging, laying out, or Parkour. Its completely unjustified to ban an activity such as Parkour,Flag

Name: Jesse Anderson on Aug 22, 2010Comments: They shouldn't ban something as essential as movement. I only hope this doesn't spread to Chicago or my hometown. I've established a good relationship with the local police and I do not want anything to screw that up.Flag

Name: Benjamin Alcala on Aug 22, 2010Comments: Parkour has been unfairly branded with a punk image akin to that of skateboarding, when in reality the practitioners of the two sports are nothing alike. Traceurs have the ultimate respect for their environment and it is truly disappointing to see such resistance to an activity that is doing so much good in youth today.Flag

Name: John Nielsen on Aug 22, 2010Comments: I feel like people should spend some more time really researching parkour and the philosophy behind it, they look at us like a buch of hooligan skateboarders or something (not that there is anything wrong with skateboarders, just there is a general dislike of them skating in cities) Maybe the people who practice there should talk to the city and try to get an event going, maybe even at that location, teaching people a litle more abotu parkour and the philosophy behind it, they could organize a clean up and everything. Just throwing ideas out! Good luck NY tracuers!Flag

Name: Ryan Nigro on Aug 22, 2010Comments: This is wrong! Parkour doesn't draw in "bad kids" it is a way to sooth the mind and body and if your going to take that away from a bunch of people then you are not a very nice person. If this ban goes through I am coming to NYC and join all the free runners in their fight to keep Parkour alive in NYC!Flag

Name: Christopher Karadimos on Aug 22, 2010Comments: Parkour is a recognized sport. If New York were to ban Parkour, then New York might as well ban Basketball, Football, Soccer, Hockey, and every other sport mentionable in public parks. If anything, the Public Authority Figures should be encouraging the skill of which is Parkour to be continued, as it teaches youth, as well as middle aged individuals, to be physically active and puts Public Parks to good use, without the destruction of Public Property.Flag
