Name: Jennifer Hays on May 29, 2006State: CACountry: USComments: I think declawing cats is extremely cruel. Right now, the apartment complex I live in requires your cat to be declawed. If I got one, I would never want to do this to an animal and the apartment complex is obviously ignorant about the effects. Besides, they'd only be hurting my furniture or me and I've trained other cats not to scratch.Flag

Not to mention the dangers of the procedure. Cats died from it!!! NO MORE DECLAWING!!! If you donFlag

Name: Francis & Patricia Gorman on Jul 24, 2007State: SCCountry: USComments: My daughter ended up with a cat for possible rehabilitation that had been declawed by very sloppy & unsanitary methods. The cat was full of infection, in tremendous constant pain, had to have a leg amputated, cost me a small fortune in vet bills and ended up dying horribly, feverish and with great pain after we or the vets could no more for her. She was in her last stages of kittenhood turning into an adult, similiar to a 16 or 17 year old kid. I'm not a cat lover but did everything possible and money was no object, within reason. do no moreFlag

Name: Becky Raymond on Jul 24, 2007State: SCCountry: USComments: It is cruel to disfigure an animal rendering him defenseless, putting him through unnecessary pain and suffering not to mention the risks of infection or disability all so you don't have clawed furniture! If you want a cat accept that cats are born with claws and cats do scratch, don't get a cat if you can't accept this fact.Flag

Name: Mary Rice on Aug 12, 2007State: OHCountry: USComments: When I wrote this, I wondered what kind of response it would get. I think declawing is evil, cruel, not necessary, and so painful for a cat. Can you imagine the pain and humiliation for the poor cat I'm surprised that any cat would use a litter box after that horrible procedurs. The people who do it to their cats are awful people. I have lots more to say, but it would take up too much room. MaryFlag
