Ours is a military family. a total of 24 years were spent on defending this country's laws. If you are a vet, or even concerned citizen, and if you too feel that rules and regulations should apply to all and not only to the average person we ask you to sign below. The below is just one of several examples witnessed:

In 2011 Chattanooga State Community College decided to create a position for manager of User Support Services. Although six perfectly qualified persons had interviewed for the position it was ultimately given to a person who did not meet minimum criteria. To put a stamp of legitimacy to the process the position was readvertised inhouse.

The inhouse interviews were a sham - the manager elect had sat in on four of the previous interviews and now was asked the very same questions as the other candidates had been asked. Needless to say, she was well versed on what answers to give. Not to mention, none of the candidates met job description requirements.

Despite management's awareness of harassing behavior the position was given to this individual. Within two years all former employees of the department were gone. One quit within two months, another was terminated for health reasons, one was terminated under the at will doctrine, and another retired as soon as he could.

Again, although there was a more than ample pool of qualified candidates available, replacements for gotten rid off employees did not meet minimum criteria.

A packet containing notarized statements and supporting documents was sent to Nashville. All the various violations were listed. As expected nothing of significance was done, the VP violating guidelines and procedures and the manager still have their job.

We feel that management should be held to the same standards as every other employee. And, if violating handbooks, guidelines and procedures should be terminated just as any other employee.

We feel the at will doctrine gives too much powers to employers - in nearly all other industrialized countries it was abolished long ago and employees can only be fired for work related misconduct.

We feel harassment/bullying of any individual, even though they are not part of Title VI/VII, should be unlawful and a firing offense. Again, in other countries i.e. EU, Australia, Canada harassment/bullying is a violation of labor law.

If you too feel that it is time the US progresses into the 21st century please sign below. Thank you.
