Anne Fischer Is Unfit To Serve
Ms. Fischer, For almost fifty years, the people of the 10th Congressional District have been under Republican leadership. Democrats have worked hard to register voters, have conversation with moderates on both sides of the isle and to push highly qualified candidates. Democrats are committed to turning around our economy and creating jobs, protecting our communities from crime, promoting sensible health care reform, protecting the environment and promoting clean energy. This year, our slate of Democratic candidates are among the best. In 2004, you publicly embarrassed our party by running for office during a time when you were unable to manage your own personal affairs. Police removed you from your home and you filed bankruptcy in 2005. As much as you would like for the 10th district to believe this qualifies you to understand the plight of others, it does not. There is a great difference between someone who intentionally mismanages their finances and someone who looses a job due to economic recession. You have participated in Democratic events where we have heard you make biased and prejudicial comments about a variety of religious views and faiths that do not align with your own. You have blamed the Catholic Church for sinking the Titanic and said that extraterrestrials created the earth. You have worked hard to fight for women's rights, but have consistently been biased toward men. An unbalanced approach to this issue and others have been evident in your emails, your words and your actions. For the last 2 weeks, you have been in the news and have consistently embarrassed the Democratic Party by attacking former campaign workers - rather than taking initiative for your own actions. You have been unable to raise support and have had more people disassociate themselves from your campaign, than be actively involved in it. We, the undersigned, call for your immediate withdrawal from the race for the 10th Congressional District in North Carolina. In addition to being a public embarrassment to our Party, your poor leadership and unprofessional actions are hurting other candidates and cast a negative image on Democrats all together. Together, we declare that you do not represent the kind of leadership we seek and we ask you spare us the trouble by making an exit from the race.
