As a citizen of Europe Union, I am not indifferent to everything, happening in our European society. Being the person, interested in political life actively and supporting a political line of your party, I would like to draw your attention to following issues:
What is your personal and common-party attitude to the actions and statements of the main opponent of your political power Wilfried Martens?
To my regret, watching the work of the principal institutions of the European Union, impression is made that the active position within of ЕU occupies only the president of the European People’s Party - Wilfried Martens.
Recently the leader of ЕPP has appropriated individually and categorically the right to lead a dialogue with all official institutions and organizations, as well as with world political establishment in the name of all deputy corps of the EU. Thus all members of the party are in a passive condition, not expressing actively their own position on this or that question. So if any statements sound, they are inert and unconfident.
Is it really a cult of the leader in the European People’s Party? How can we call it “national”, when nowadays this is actually a “party of individual power”!
Progressive Alliance, having in the lead intelligent and competent politician, the person who soon will become the head of EU legislature, should not disregard and leave without due reaction such behavior, I hope.
The European institutions, both the EU Commission and especially the European Parliament should be more active in their attempts to bring measures, ideas, bills up for discussion, which are advantageous for everybody, but not for separate politicians of EU, because the European Union is a unity of 27 states. Such tendency affects in whole on development of the EU adversely.
In addition, Martens repeatedly and officially declares the following: ЕPP is the greatest political movement of Europe heading all main institutions of the EU, and also having in the party lists 17 of 27 heads of member-states of the Union. But such success, first of all, entrusts to us a great responsibility for the decisions made by us!
However, the success has turned dear sir Martens the head! Besides his responsibility, sir Martens has conferred to himself the individual right of making decisions in all issues. Problems of justice, democratization of society, processes of integration – everything is estimated categorically and rigidly. There is only “one correct opinion” - opinion of mister Martens! But! Most amazing is the fact that he completely associates himself with the ЕPP, and moreover, with the European Parliament! All his thoughts he puts out as consolidated by all members of Parliament!
I call you, members of the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats, competent and self-sufficient politicians to state the political position and opinions of your fraction for any decisions which are accepted in the legislature and executive of the EU more actively. Do not forget, that your voters, your electorate keeps vigilant watch actively on your activity and relies on your wisdom.
