Name: Allison Andrade on Dec 14, 2012Comments: I can understand neutering or spaying every cat so they can't reproduce and fill shelters, but there is no logical reason to declaw every cat in your stores. It's cruel, painful and unnecessary. Please consider changing your methods of preparing cats for adoption.Flag

Name: The CatAWhack Crew And Bret Glass on Dec 14, 2012Comments: Declawing is an unnecessary surgical amputation that does not honor, acknowledge, or understand the scratching behavior and species-specific essence that is cat. Supply the right behavioral redirection tools and teach people how to implement solutions and strategies that lead to positive cohabitations between feline and human that need not result in the anatomical and functional alteration of our feline friends.Flag

Name: RaeAnna Saks on Dec 26, 2012Comments: Declawing is unnecessasry and inhumane. It is illegal in MANY countries, and now in San Francisco. Would you cut off your children's fingers in case they might damage your home? Write on the wall? There are MANY options to declawing. Please, USA, join in the rest of the sane world regarding no declaw. And while we're at it, no docked tails or ears. Let the animals be who they were created to be for God's sake!!Flag

Name: Mary Lou Gurnée Gamble on Jan 18, 2013Comments: You may think the cat is going to a good home...but what if the opposite happens? I found a poor, homeless cat that was starving and scared out of his mind. His owners had declawed him, then decided they didn't want him and dumped him on the street. With no way to catch food or defend himself, it was only a matter of time. I gained his trust and took him in. Under all the muck of being left out in the world was a beautiful fluffy coat after a much needed bath. We called him Puff. He is the sweetest cat ever, and everyone who visits us wants to take him home with them. And this poor sweet fella nearly died because he was declawed. Please stop mutilating animals for what boils down to fashion. You wouldn't want someone cutting a third of your child's fingers off, would you?Flag
