    Comments: Many experiments cannot be modeled on a computer. Computer models are derived from data from animal studies. Tissue cultures are derived from animals. I'm ALL in favor a rigorous review before authorizing a study to avoid needless or duplicative work. But drug developers cannot yet predict how a new drug will act in a living system without testing on live subjects. Animals lines are genetically essentially identical and are well-studied... but people are not very easy to study; the results are all over the place and difficult to interpret. Would you prefer them to do the primary safety/efficacy tests on your kid Your mom You Even if you would accept that risk, FDA's 21CFR code wouldn't let them do it, anyway. So please go petition your congressman/woman to change the law first.
