To date five states have bills pending which if passed into law would create a statewide animal abuse registry.  The law would require convicted animal abusers to register annually.  History has shown that many animal abusers have a strong risk of becoming human abusers, and the registry allows more eyes in the community to watch them and prevent future violent crimes.
The Indiana League of Humane Voters will be working towards getting the Indiana General Assembly to put such a bill in place in hopes of passing it into law.  If you are in the State of Indiana, you can help us show strength in numbers by signing this petition.  To keep track of what is currently going on in Indiana's House and Senate, go to the Facebook page "The League of Humane Voters - Indiana."   You do not need to contribute $$ to sign the Petition.  Thank you!
