The Hills have Eyes I thought was quite a good remake, TCM there was no where near enough brain game terror, and couldn't even be compared to the first.
To hear A Nightmare On Elm St is in the pipeline for a re-make almost made me physically sick, this must be stopped! Money, it is a disgrace that money is so important that the thought of messing with a masterpiece doesn't even come to mind. I could not believe what I was reading, still in shock from just reading the Friday 13th re-make I stumble across this one.
It is our generations finest horror character, come up with your own crappy modern slasher character and leave ours alone, ours is the greatest, you know it, thats why you want it. Be careful Robert England "Money really is the route of all Evil!" |

But i have to be honest making another nightmare movie *particularly a remake* is bad i think but to say your gonna make a nightmare remake without Robert England in it is *and i must be honest with you* completely idiotic!. He was a huge part of the success of the franchise as you are well aware of that. | 32 | Casey James | I'm very suprised at Robert Shaye, NOES made him and made NEW LINE CINEMA. He should have respect for this classic movie, and not be selling it out to Platinum Dunes and Michael Bay who do nothing but ruin or taint absolute classic horror thrillers. ANOES is not just any old horror however, it's a true classic, like Dracula - no-one else can play Freddy, Robert Englund made the character from the very first scene he appeared. His stance, his body language - it can't be duplicated, only spoilt for new viewers. Heather Langenkamp and the rest of the cast were also AMAZING. The audience cared about these characters, they weren't just teens that got murdered one after the other as in some horror's. We got to know each character, and the actors gave it their all - being innocent eighties teens. No-one will be able to recapture the mood and magic of this classic movie. No-one else can play Nancy either! Heather was fantastic in the role. Why don't 'Platinum Dung' go F'off and come up with something original instead of stealing other writers original ideas. Freddy is a legacy, and I will definetly BOYCOTT this film if it is made. I will also speak to all my friends and family and have them BOYCOTT it also, although I know many of them will. There wont be any curiousity from me about seeing a re-make - I couldn't care less about seeing one. Why don't these companies ever learn?? You can't re-make classics - look how awful 'Psycho' was - and 'Nightmare is in the same league. It has a huge cult and commercial following - people will start a back-lash soon against this crap. 'Platinum Dung shit' are just trying to make money - if they want original screenplay's I have one, I know many ppl who have fought hard in the buisness to get somewhere, and that's why companies like this are disgusting. They just want to make money, they're greedy f*cks with no originality. Boycott this film, don't see it out of curiousity, like they want you to - it'll suck soooo bad, remember how they destroyed 'The Hitcher'?? Just BOYCOTT THIS MOVIE and all movies they RE-MAKE. It's the only way to stop them, and we can stop them. Just remember how much you love the original. If New Line want money so bad, they should just re-release the film and put one of the other endings on it. Please help stop these theives and give real writers a chance to make original cinema! Heather, Amanda, Johnny, Nick, John, Ronee and Robert will always be the one and only stars of 'A Nightmare on Elm Street.' Boycott Platinum Dunes! |
