Name: Lucy Witt on Jan 11, 2007Comments: This war was never justified by the facts, was ill planned, and has proved to be a disaster for the United States, the Iraqi people and all of the countries of the middle east. We should set a clear date for removing all troops, doing only what is necessary to protect our troops as they pull out and at the same time begin talks with ALL neighboring countries who have a stake in the outcome of this terrible mess that we started. It is time our politicians learned to admit to their mistakes and show that they can learn from them.Flag

Name: Alice R Rivero on Jan 11, 2007Comments: We should be looking for a diplomatic solution to this horrendous problem. The irony is that for all the evil he did, Saddam Hussein might have been an ally in the war against Al Queda. Had he been in power, he'd never let Al Queda infiltrate Iraq. But by lying to us, that Saddam and bin Laden were allies, Bush just shot himself in the foot.Flag

Name: David Little on Jan 12, 2007Comments: I am dead set against any troop surge in Iraq . If Bush won't listen to the majority of the American people under his leadership, then hopefully our new Congress will listen and take action to cut off funds. My 81 year old mother keeps saying that Bush is the worst president we have ever had and I keep wishing he would change course and work with Congress. But with the new embassy and 14 military bases and a desire to keep US troops there forever, I believe Dick Cheney's plan is as miguided as it is illegal and criminal. I am listening to c- span from my home in Portland, Me and following the Congressional hearings with great interest. Momentum is building for a rebuke, by Congress of Bush's plan to escalate the American occupation once again. I hope it succeeds and I hope the new Congress is able to hold all in the current administration accountable for what they have done. Sincerely, David LittleFlag

The US has destroyed Iraq with 12 years of sanctions and 4 years of war. We should be responsible for helping the people get back on their feet.Flag

What right do we have to force it down their throats What right do you have to send thousands of Americans to their deaths or injury to force something on another nation Get them all out of there. We know you're doing it for oil, why not just admit itFlag
