Name: Anonymous on Mar 29, 2011Comments: As a Queens resident, I am deeply troubled by the fact that any Queens Community Executive Board would knowingly violate the New York State Freedom of Information Law or operate against the larger community's interests. I therefore request that this board be removed. What is your zip code?: 11373Flag

Name: Arlene Cusumano on Mar 29, 2011Comments: Community Board 7 routinely ignores concerns of many residents about traffic and other quality of life issues, yet consistently backs projects that only increase problems that already exist. Their attitude of "my way or hit the highway" has got to end and a new board must be responsive to the needs of ALL the residents, not just a chosen few.......namely, developers. What is your zip code?: 11357Flag

Name: Anonymous on Mar 30, 2011Comments: CB7 also mishandled the Rezoning application for the White House Restaurant in Whitestone. The CB7 Land Use committee meeting and public hearing were inaccurately advertised on their flyers, stating only the address of the White House and did not include all of the lots involved. At the public hearing the rezoning of this application was totally downplayed by both the applicant and the Community Board leadership. Focus was put on other issues like traffic, handicap accessibility, architectural details of the building itself, etc., all of which are irrelevant, considering the fact that if the commercial zoning is approved, the developer doesn't even have to build a catering hall or restaurant at all. He could build anything - a strip mall, a medical building, etc. CB7 should take every application seriously and they need to pay more attention to the actual residents of the community and not to their developer friends. What is your zip code?: 11357Flag

Name: Meg Baker on Apr 5, 2011Comments: We have lived in College Point since 1991 and it is a shame what has been done to many of the older buildings and homes who had "character". The infrastructure ( only four roads in and out of the town) has not kept pace with the rate of development and traffic is a nightmare. There has been absolutely NO trickle-down to the main shopping area of CP, College Point Boulevard, from the Targt, Old Navy and other stores on 20t Avenue. Except for Boulder Crek, there isn't a decent restaurant in town. I am still waiting for the benefits to the community from Spa Castle and the Chinese Cultural Center. I am definitely in support of term-limiting CB7 members-- it is tie for new blood to be involved. What is your zip code?: 11356Flag

Now that Oneill's is gone ( I saw it coming) I'm outta here. Maspeth can shit itself for all I care. Shame on the good folks of our community for not demanding CB5 to represent and fight for us. Let the developers take it.What is your zip code?: 11378Flag

Name: Walter Kowsh, Jr., President Cedar Grove Civic Association, Inc. on May 28, 2011Comments: The Community Board's in general, and Queens CB#7, are illegitimate in that they are not elected by the voters, but instead appointed by elected officials. This process is inherently unequal, and is in violation of U.S. Const. Amend. I, IV, V, and X!V as shown in the landmark decision of Moris v. New York City Board of Estimate 489 U.S. 688 (1989) that representation in a legislative or deliberative board dealing with an apportionment of the citizens must be done on the basis of "one man one vote". Queens CB #7, the largest Community Board in NYC, is like the rest of the Community Boards based upon no vote and as many men (and woman) that can be shoved into them. The Boards must be dismantled, representative districts apportioned, elections held, and then the Boards may be reconstituted within the guide lines established in 1970 for their institution that no community will be divided and the districts be compact, contiguous, and evenly sized on the population within. What is your zip code?: 11367Flag

They did not have a search warrant, and they did not find anything, but they stole $800, a bag, shoes and told the Super to steal the TV and anything else he could get his hands on. One cop told one of the brothers that he is going to keep his iphone. What kind of bullshit is this that continues to happen and the law enforcement people are never responsible or have accountability. What is your zip code?: 11375Flag

The process is undemocratic and corrupt. CB4 should also be investigated by the Dept of InvestigationWhat is your zip code?: 11368Flag

Name: Denise Digirolomo on Aug 22, 2011Comments: The board claimed not to be aware when the mta changed a bus route adversely affecting a neighborhood ,local business and overall quality of life. The claimed to be on board with the movement to change the routes back . They never held the mta accountable to prove the the change was a benefit to anyone. They have never helped with any issue including illegal truck traffic . Maybe when someone gets hit by the bus barreling down the street (which is too narrow for even 2 passing cars) someone will do something. If I could sell my house now , I would. What is your zip code?: 11357Flag
