I graduated in 1973 and this is the first time that I feel that we are moving forward in regards to race relations and womens rights. It has been a long time 35 years, and this speech moved me to tears. I felt the same sense of possibility that I felt when I was a senior in High School when Barack gave that speech. It gave many Americans a chance to think about their own feelings towards this sensitive issue without feeling lectured to. It will go down as a moment in our history when we all felt connected and I want that feeling to continue. |
