Comments: How can your organisation speak out on forced abortion and the abortion of millions of females in China and India if you support abortion. Saying that you only support it if it is the womans choice does not take into account cultural values that leave woman with no choice.

Comments: My parents introduced me to Amnesty International as a wonderful example of an organisation that stands against all forms of tyranny and abuse of human rights. I cannot believe the news that Amnesty is about to take sides over the hugely divisive and controversial issue of abortion. My parents are full-paying members who have always tried to encourage others to join and constantly speak of youre campaigns in Guatemala, Chechnya and the other under-reported human tragedies Amnesty International exposes. Yet for the first time in many years of membership both my parents and all their friends are planning on leaving youre organisation. I cannot believe you would choose to simply ignore the views of so many of youre most comitted and long-term members-some of whom i have met-by abandoning neutrality and choosing to take one side over the other in the abortion debate. Abortion can never be considered a "human right"-because it is a contradiction in terms for a human right-to be the right to take another humans life. What about the rights of the other human (in this case the unborn child)| to life Because human life is the most important right-nothing supersedes it-and Amnesty has fought long and hard to build its well-deserved reputation as a lone defender of those rights everywhere in the World. I know that to you i may be just another grassroots member, but please do not ignore our voices to be drowned out by the voices that support abortion-i ask you to remain neutral and not to exclude all those members who have supported you for so long by taking a stance they cannot support.

Comments: I think it is a disgrace that Amnesty International has abandoned it's no to abortion as a human right. I have been a member of Amnesty in the past and have always supported it's campaign's, it used to stand for anti war, anti death death penalty and no to any destruction of human life. I have contacted a number of people who are members of amnesty and they are currently resigning their memberships and I will contact more. This organisation now stands for the evil it used to stand against.
