This petition is to rescind the Arizona Medical Marijuana Act's ban on growing marijuana within 25 mile's of a dispensary. Medical Marijuana patients are currently allowed to cultivate up to 12 plants in there home anywhere in AZ, but once dispensaries open up they will have to stop growing or move 25 miles from the nearest dispensary in order to continue to cultivate. Allowing patients to grow their own marijuana provides an opportunity for patients to grow, consume and provide marijuana to other patients who may not be able to afford to buy marijuana otherwise. Patients who are already growing marijuana within 25 miles of a dispensary once they finally do open up will be forced to stop growing or face criminal prosecution. This portion of the law is unnecessary and should be rescinded.
