Just minutes ago, the U.S. Senate voted "NO" on ratification of the U.N.
Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. Praise the
Lord! The vote was 60 Senators in favor of ratification, with 38
Senators opposed. Ratification would have required at least 67 votes.Thank you to all of those who contacted Senators, signed our petition, and spread the word among your friends and families. ParentalRights.org
said in an email that Senator Jeff Sessions of Alabama stated his
office received over 1000 letters and emails voicing opposition to the
treaty, and only 40 in favor of it.This is a great victory for parental rights and U.S. sovereignty. Praise the Lord!Join us in fighting similar threats at www.freedomsdefenders.com.

Tuesday afternoon, the Senate took a preliminary vote on the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD).
The vote was on a “Motion to Proceed” which means that the Senate gave
permission to begin debate regarding the treaty. As is often the case,
this was a preliminary vote which tells us a great deal about the vote
for final passage.
The vote was 61 to 36 to proceed to debate. Three senators did not
vote. The good news is that the Senate hasn’t proceeded to the next
step—ending debate and voting on whether to ratify the treaty. The Senate could vote on this treaty as early as Friday - keep calling and emailing your Senators!www.FreedomsDefenders.com

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (NV) has announced that the Senate will vote to ratify the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) treaty on Wednesday. Please contact your two Senators immediately to tell them to vote "NO" on this dangerous treaty.

handicaps. However, the United States is a sovereign nation that
already has one of the best track records in the world for looking after
the rights of the handicapped. Handing power regarding this issue to UN
officials and their designated social workers is not necessary or
prudent. Governmental treaties that start small and sound innocuous
often become intrusive later when the rules change and the rights of the
parents of handicapped children are trumped. Let's keep the hands of
the United Nations off. We have already seen how they can mismanage
their intrusive affairs. They don't need to get involved in decisions of...
