Name: Joan Linder on Sep 22, 2010Comments: I am a size 14. I have been married 3.5 years to a man that looks at me with the lust in his eyes that people look at pale, bony models. What's wrong with some meat on your bones? Years ago that was considered healthy- esspecially for child bearing and marriage. AA you are a disappointment.Country: United StatesFlag

Name: Anonymous on Sep 22, 2010Comments: I will preface this by stating that I do not believe in censorship, it is a dangerous Pandora's Box that needn't be opened further. This being said, I received some American Apparel items as a gift several years ago and loved them. At this point I had not seen any of your advertising, but then I did. What can I say? Your depictions of very, VERY, young, overly-sexualized girls completely changed my mind about your company. I cannot give my money to a company that perpetuates the image of girls-as-sex-objects. And I do mean GIRLS, not women, which is bad enough and already dominates our media. Please change the way your advertise your products.Country: CanadaFlag

Merci.Country: CanadaFlag

Name: Jessica Slimmon on Nov 5, 2010Comments: I speak for a number of my friends who I hear voice the same opinions, American Apparel needs to get a new ad campaign. Most people I know are sick of what you do to the back of magazines and newspapers. We already have mainstream media to make us feel oppressed and insecure in our own bodies so more alternative and 'edgier' brands like American Apparel need to be more CREATIVE do the ultimate TABOO of using normal looking people in your ads...and then us girls might be able to sleep at night with good thoughts about ourselves in our head, and at least a bit of food in our bellies -JessicaCountry: CanadaFlag

Name: Diana Shope on Dec 1, 2010Comments: I hope you reconsider this campaign. I passionately agree with the sentiments in this petition. As the mother of an eight year-old daughter and an early childhood educator, I feel strongly about making responsible choices regarding our children. They have only one childhood - there are no do-overs! We have to be aware of the actions and choices that we make and how those influence EVERYONE around us! I for one am taking a stand for our children! I will make friends aware of this travesty so that they do not support treating women as objects! I love my daughter and support all children!!!Country: United StatesFlag
