Comments: I hope my signature will help honor the legacy of American Recording Studio and the many talented people who worked there. I'm very proud of my father (Don Crews) and all that he did to help American become a major force in music in the 1960's and early 1970's.

Comments: During the mid and late 60's and the early 70's American Recording Studio in Memphis was regarded as the "World Class" studio by many labels and producers. The place you go if you want to cut a hit record and where you could get a "world class" producer and the hottest band (rythmn section) to cut it for you, regardless if it was a new upcoming artist or reviving the career of an artist that has already reached stardom. This studio and it's principles (producers, writers, arrangers, and band) and metaphored "Rock-a-Billy" and evolved it into "Top Forty."

Comments: As an Engineer/Producer at another Memphis Studio at the time and having been present for many sessions there, I can testify that there was magic in the air when ever they fired up that board. I worked on the same equipment at a number of other studios in town and the only one that came close was Shoe.
