American Girl seems to forget that not only Caucasians are American and seems to leave out many other races in their dolls. American Girl has never released a black girl of the year doll before but only has been releasing white dolls for the past 3 years. Last time they made a doll of the color black was in 2009 with Sonali Matthews who was only a friend but not a main character and nobody paid attention to her. Also every time American releases an Asian GOTY (only happened 2 times) they make her half white for example Kanani was half Hawaiian (Asian) and German and Jess was half Japanese and German American Girl needs to learn that you don't need to have white in your blood to make you American you are automatically American once you are born in America American is a nationality which means anyone of any race can be American if born in America. AG has released 65 Caucasian dolls in their history. As for African-American/Black/Medium skin dolls they have released only 23. As for Asian only 8. As for Hispanic only 2. and etc only 1. This proves that American Girl needs more diversity.
