204 Erica Robertsonericabrobertson@yahoo.comThis is definitely needed-I used to be a Case Manager and I know first hand how difficult it can be to provide good case management when you have 80 cases!

214 Susan Laraslara04@sbcglobal.netI fully support the need for a pay increase for the Regional Center's case managers, also intake personnel and many of the staff that dedicate they time to work with our developmental disabled citizens. My brother has a developmental disability that falls into the Autism Spectrum, and I am also a parent of a child with severe Cerebral palsy, and I applaud your efforts on this issue. The turn over of staff is very difficult on families and consumers who need experienced and educated people to assist them through this complicated system and life in general. This system is losing talented, educated and dedicated people because they are just not making enough money.
215 Penny Musantepennymusante@futures-explored.orgI applaud our case managers who knock themselves out to provide quality services despite the large caseloads and inadequate pay. A true labor of love!
216 AnonymousAnonymousMy 21 year old son with autism is not unlike an alzheimer's patient; he requires 24 hour care and supervision. Such as consumer must have a case manager who has the time and salary to ensure that s/he is motivated to stay engaged and to carry out his/her demanding job at a high standard of performance. Families like mine beseach you to make pay commensurate with responsibilities and make caseloads realistic.

218 Chantal Truscellictruscelli@sbcglobal.netI would like to see the maze broken from Alta. Let us parents be aware of all the services available so we can construct a positive plan for our kids. So much time and energy is wasted playing the game!

220 Maureen Gravesmaureen@maureengraves.comWith current pay and turnover, it is impossible for service coordinators adequately to coordinate regional center services, much less help families access generic services and private resources. Better case manager qualifications and compensation would help families mobilize "natural supports" as well as tapping private resources such as insurance coverage. Improving case management needs to be combined with a focus on quality of services and on inclusive settings.

223 Tamra Deckertam-n-2@sbcglobal.netI left Regional Center of the East Bay about 10 years ago. Back then the workload was tremendous on the Case Managers, who for years, salary hasn't match the wonderful job they do. I strongly urge the government to increase Case Managers salaries and reduce their caseload sizes because many Case Managers want to go above and beyond what their job description is, but it's impossible with the caseload sizes that they have.

227 geraldine schaumburggschaumburg@earthlink.netWhat is the pay for the case managers? It seems to me they don't do a heckof a lot for my son. They get a lot of time off...are on vacation a lot, and have holiday parties. As a single mom they deny me services all the time. Sorry Barking up the wrong tree. g
228 Sophy Chaffeesophyc@earthlink.netPlease support people with special needs and their families by supporting the caseworkers who are our link to critical services.

246 Kristine Gloveroakviewkriss@att.netMy caseload is currently 72 individuals of transition age. Our agency has just mandated an additional (3rd meeting) annually that is not required by the state or federal regs and that is to be held at the school they attend --- prior to the IEP and seperate from the IPP. It is to be 2 hours long and only for the purpose of discussing what will be discussed at the IEP---- the school's agenda. I have worked as a coordinator for 7 years have a Master's degree and may be leaving soon because I cannot even afford the co-pays for my children to see the doctor.
