AnonymousAnonymousIt is a continuous struggle to fill vacant case manager positions. A significant reduction in average caseload size and a significant salary increase would result in less turnover and facilitate recruitment of new case managers.
Michael Eliumnatficon@sprynet.comThis is an important step for families that are affected by this disability.

Kimberly M. Bostromkimeoebostrom@yahoo.comMy family could not survive without the services and the support that we obtain from Regional Centers of California by way of our fabulous, overworked and clearly underpaid Case Managers: please support this amendment.
Jean Rolfjeanrolf@comcast.netI agree that the case managers should be paid a fair salary. Their task is not easy and we need people who are capable of pursuing the needs of our developmentally disabled with conviction and with our support. I am a parent of a Down’s syndrome daughter who is 56 years old. I have been involved with a parent group in the Hayward Area since 1953. We are now working on a non-profit residential facility for the developmentally disabled who are nearing their senior years and have lost one or both of their parents. The experiences of some of us in the older category can attest to the inadequate care given our sons and daughters in the Board & Care Homes that are available. I realize they are doing their best – but there are problems. As a parent who has been active in the parent group since 1953, I have many experiences to relate to and question. I do not want to speak out against the current system, but I do hope for improvement. I know that parent groups need to consolidate and demand the best treatment and care for their disabled children. (My daughter is 56 and I still call her my child – but then aren’t all our offspring our children?) We brought them into this world and we hope to help them find their place in society. And we who pursue this cause will continue to try to find the best life for our "children." My husband died 30 years ago and we had already dedicated our lives to improve the life of the retarded (that was the accepted name at that time – 1977). It is important that we stand together to demand a good life for our handicapped "child".
Ron Halogron@alacostacenter.orgI support the petition to give case-managers an living adjustment.
Vicki Thomasvlthomas53@hotmail.comI support your petition in the interest of my son, with autism.
Sally Goodinsgoodin@sbcglobal.netI fully support this amendment to raise the pay of the regional center case managers as well as lowering their case load. It is well deserved!

Judith Kadishkadish@pacbell.netI fully support any effort to decrease case loads and increase salaries of Regional Center caseworkers.
Veronica Hadsellvhadsell@yahoo.comI believe Case Managers have a very challenging job, and they fully deserve to be compensated fairly. Without them, many children would not get the assistance they need.

Michael Contimconti@rceb.orgThank you for all your hard work.
Erica Robertsonericabrobertson@yahoo.comThis is definitely needed-I used to be a Case Manager and I know first hand how difficult it can be to provide good case management when you have 80 cases!
Michael Dean Metzdeanmetz@hotmail.com
Susan D.Keeffeskeeffe@ix.netcom.comI have been concerned lately as RCEB Case Managers have not been attending IEPs. I have learned that is because there are not enough Case Managers. I supervise severely involved students placed in nonpublic schools where the involvement of Case Managers is critical to the families and students. This raise is long overdue. The workers are devoted and work very hard. This despite the fact they have had no increases in pay for 9 years! Please support this measure. Susan Keeffe Parent/ Sp.Ed. Administrator

Gil Murillogmurillo@projectsea.orgProviding Case Managers with knowledge and adjusted case load should serve the Disability community better. But as consumers, we should monitor their performance if this passes. Too many times we support changes such as these with minimum result for the disabled community.

Stanley Seiglerissjr@aol.comCurrent caseloads are counterproductive...make it impossible for a dedicated case mgr to do much more than shuffle paperwork...and little if any time to provide the support intended by the Lanterman Act, the Bill of Rights for people with disABILITIES.

Sue Hawcoflower1@msn.comI support a cost of living pay formula adjustment and reduction in caseload size for the regional center system."
Peter Pritchardpritpete@hotmail.comI heartily endorse the petition, as our daughter is one of the consumers being affected.

Jeanne Kornjeannekorn@aol.comI support renewal of Lanterman on behalf of my daughter, who is developmentally disabled and will rely on the quality of her case manager for the rest of her life.
Jeanine Bishopjpbis@aol.comI support an amendment to the Lanterman Act as a way to ensure the system supports its clients rather than breaking under the pressure from California's cost of living.
Linda Guandalinilinda.guandalini@medtronic.comI, Linda Guandalini, Rohnert Park CA 94928 , support a cost of living pay formula adjustment and reduction in caseload size for the regional center system.

Melanie KilcorseMkilcorse@rceb.orgCase Managers work incessantly to try to serve and meet their consumers needs. This is a daunting and challenging task that seems unlikely to be fufilled unless caseload sizes are reduced via legislation. Case managers are burning out and leaving their positions due to the impractical level of high job demands and not being sufficiently compensated in monetary salary. Social work is not a highly paid profession, because society often tends to underestimate its value. Case workers enter into other job sectors, to experience less work demands, and more money. Dear legislator if you want the community to be served, then changes need to be made. I urge you and encourage you to support the amendment to the Lanterman Act. Thank You. Melanie Kilcorse California
