Amend 18 USC CHAPTER 43
Many public figures, especially celebrities and sports figures are being impersonated by people every day on social media sites such as Facebook, My Space and Twitter. They have duped thousands of fans. Not only are the fans victims, but the real victims are the public figures themselves as their characters are being defamed. Unfortunately, there are only ten states that have anti personation laws. I have written my Senator to assist in amending the law: 18 USC CHAPTER 43 - FALSE PERSONATION that protects Law Enforcement, Members of thd Red Cross AND 4H Members, to include public figures such as people in the entertainment business including celebrities, well know sports figures, etc. Please sign the petition if you think it is wrong for a person to falsely personate another person. Thank you.
