In the past, I have assumed that reviews were generally not subject to author complaints. I find the circumstances of this case unsettling, and will be hesitant to rely on amazon reviews in the future.Flag

Name: Anonymous on Jul 28, 2009Comments: This is horrific to consider that Amazon is doing next to NOTHING to combat these horrible & frightening things. In the DAM situation, what if a rabid fan tried to attack this person (ala the Jodie Foster situation) in order to curry favor with the author (The difference is that Jodie Foster never asked or implied that she wanted anyone to try to kill or hurt anyone for her. This author IS implying that she wants someone to hurt or inconvenience this person!)Flag

Name: Anonymous on Oct 30, 2009Comments: What happened to Reba was a shame, and she should be reinstated at Amazon with her full privileges; she should also be allowed to speak her mind on the board in any form, manner, or mode she chooses. Amazon should be ashamed for rebuking and banning Amazon from the Discussion Forum when clearly the author was abusing her privileges on Amazon to harass and intimidate a reader that dared post a less-than-raving review of her boook.Flag

Name: Brakbarh Akenatoï on Oct 14, 2010Comments: This is what happens when HUMAN BEINGS start to rely way too heavily on AUTOMATIC SYSTEMS to regulate their relationships... So, what I ask to Amazon is the following : change your global politics, and offer a job to (a sufficient number of) HUMAN BEINGS to personaly examine any & all similar problems, one case at a time. And, please : stop that mono-neuronal behavior of deleting ALL the post of a poster when in fact only a few of his/her posts are outside the Amazon boundaries. (This will maybe reduce Amazon's profits, but annoyed & decieved customers will certainly reduce them a lot more !)Flag

Name: Marios on Feb 24, 2012Comments: 03/02/2010 at 12:51 amI agree, they sdhulon't be sold in toy stores anymore. The board actually comes with a warning and explains what could happen to you while using it.If anything parents should know better then to let there children play with that thing, it's not a toy and sdhulon't be treated like one. Those things are bad luck and nothing good ever comes from them.If I had a kid, I wouldn't let them mess with that thing no matter how much they begged / pleaded or even got upset with me. That thing will never see the light of day in my house. Or at all for that matter.I messed with one a while back and was lucky enough that nothing serious happened.Flag

Secondly, while The Salvation Army hasn't engaged itself in any serious research, it has within its grasp the Creation Story, a story that suggests to me that earth and everyone, everything on it, is a gift that has to be handled with care. What do you think?Flag

Name: Gabriella on Jun 6, 2012Comments: There are a few issues at play here as far as i can see. We have the back and forth over wheehtr Google is unfairly using it virtual monopoly in search to unfairly promote Plus or wheehtr it is the other networks who are at fault for not stumping up the data.As I posted myself earlier: Google knows who we are and, wheehtr by explicitly linking it as an additional profile on Plus or by other means, knows our Twitter profiles. Given this and the fact it does index public Twitter data (most of it) then it would be relatively easy to return some related tweets/profiles in a search even if they are respecting the nofollow. The argument that Google cannot know our relationships on other services is not necessarily a preclusion to returning specific data in a social search. It could also be viewed as reinforcing the comments that Search+ is not interested in all of your world, only a subset of it.Flag

Name: Raluca on Jun 6, 2012Comments: Let Google pay for Facebook's and Twitter's data, and they gain prominence in seacrh results. Don't allow Google, you lose visibility. There's nothing wrong with that. It's just Google using their assets to promote their services. That's how competition works. It gets bad, though, when Google refuses. In the end, it wouldn't matter much, at least for Twitter (and Facebook). They've got so much brand visibility already, with so many products advertising their Twitter stream on those oh-so-many billboards. It's just a sad attempt on Twitter's part to capitalize on the bad press Google's having lately. Frankly, I don't see the point it's Facebook that will be most affected by these developments. But then, Facebook has Bing to turn to,Flag
