Anonymous | What a terrible, discraceful thing to hear about. I am glad someone is trying to do something about it.

trashcanman | I'm an active member of the Amazon community and I am beyond disgusted by this sort of conduct. Do I want to contribute to a website that allows this kind of behavior to go on? No I don't. Amazon needs to check on and verify any complaints and claims of abuse before banning anybody.
RStewart | This is wrong. I thought the point of reviews was to help other readers, not to stroke the egos of writers.

Jessica Peter | Ridiculous!
Anonymous | I am shocked and appalled that Amazon would condone such behavior. It's disgusting and Amazon will find they get no more money from me unless some changes are made to include those suggested above in the body of the petition.

Anonymous | For the sake of Freedom of Speech and its own future, Amazon needs to protect its reputation by protecting its reviewers.

| 718 | Liadan Brodie | I have some of her books and I have not had time to read them. I will not be reading them now or ever. I am horribly shocked that an author would act this way.
Reba - you have my complete support. |
Anonymous | I had no idea this was going on on Amazon, but I did know that other disreputable and similar things were going on on Amazon. I have a similar problem presently, where I'm not allowed to invite any Amazon friends anymore, although I can still accept Amazon invitations and have all my other privileges. I am not even getting a response from them when I ask for more clarification.

Catherine McIsaac | This is a disturbing story and I feel that it could be solved by Amazon management showing a bit of common sense. It also damages my relationship with Amazon if I feel I can't trust that Amazon is making an effort to keep the review system from being manipulated.
Lee Rowan | As a writer, I expect reviews will vary--but 'gaming the system' makes all reviews a sham. And stalking someone who posts a less-than-5-star review is criminal behavior and should be treated as such.
Diana Rasner |
Mariana Arias | This is really bothersome on so many levels. It's scary when people will attempt to censor (or worse, as displayed by DAM) another.
Shannon McCarthy | The actions of Amazon.com and Deborah Anne MacGillivray are absolutely appalling.
Mikhael | I find this both sickening and disturbing. I hope that B*tch is brought to justice.
Lori Karkosky |
Lisa | Absolutely ridiculous!!!
Jennifer Eiland |
Bonnie | As a reader and a customer of Amazon I am appalled by Amazon's reaction. This is simply unacceptable behavior and if Amazon wants to maintain a trusted bookseller I suggest it treats its customers better and not allow such underhanded behavior as was displayed by Ms MacGillivray.

Anonymous | I will never purchase a HP or Deborah Anne MacGillvray book.

Anonymous | You should be ashamed of yourselves. Letting ANYONE behave this way is simply unacceptable. If you so strongly feel the need to ban Reba Belle, (which is wrong, IMO) you should then also ban Deborah Anne MacGillivray. Afterall, DAMacGillivray is not only the instigator of the incident in question, she is the main perpetrator as well.
Becky Kyle | I strongly support the stance in this petition and I hope that you will take appropriate action as soon as possible. Terroristic behavior like this should be stopped and dealt with with the strongest of punishments. Thank you!
Paul Cherry |
Anonymous | I agree
Anonymous | Really sad that such a thing should be happening or tolerated. Certainly makes the reviews useless as references for everyone.
Jarucia Jaycox Nirula | Amazon cannot have it both ways. They need to be held accountable to their claims of customer protection and value of customer feedback. They should be able to better restrict 'puppet' accounts and manage these kind of bad behavior outbreaks.

Anonymous | If people aren't allowed to post honest reviews, and only positive ones are allowed to stand, how will other readers get an honest idea of what to expect from a title? And what is the point of having Amazon reviewers? I am astonished and horrified at Amazon's response to this abuse of the system, especially the invasion of privacy, the punishment of the victim and sheltering of the perpetrator!

Anonymous | this is unbelievable and unacceptable. this must change.
Anonymous | The author should be banned permanently. Why PAY as a customer and review in good faith to have someone stalk and terrorize you like that and then turn around and have the corporation further victimize you? It's ridiculous, Amazon.
Rina | I completely agree with this petition. Like reader and buyer I was disappointed with Amazon.com.
Anonymous | I sign anonmously because I don't want my family targetd by these people, If Amazon does not deal with this, I will buy my books elsewhere.
| 749 | Kathy Spivey | I should only hope and thereby request that guidelines and basic consumer protections regarding policies and procedures are closely monitored and followed by Amazon and that any individual not in compliance should be banned from this unacceptable practice of manipulating Amazon reviews of books. I strongly encourage Amazon to monitor their reviewers and further ban the users from any inappropriate actions that are not in compliance. As well, I believe that any reviews should be fairly stated and anyone wishing to add a personal opinion in the form of a review should not be harassed for their efforts. People who stoop to utilizing such tactics should be banned and everyone that wishes to make a review should do so freely and without the utilization of being subjected to abusive and biased language or in the utilization of such behaviors themselves. This goes for those wishing to make complaints against any such person. Including personal targets for the utilization of personal attacks, slams and smears on their characters. This arena was developed for the purpose of appropriate reviews of individual books and ideas and certainly not in regards to the personal lives of those wishing to partake in the reviews. I find this behavior totally unacceptable and it is within the guidelines and quality assurance proffered to Amazon's consumers to monitor the behaviors of such and to ban those that fail to comply.
Thank you.
An Amazon customer.
