I was very concerned about the amount of ice cream vans coming onto the street where i live. Kids go running to them as soon as they hear or see them. It got me thinking about the people who work in these ice cream vans. They have all these kids around them. Are these people safe to be around children? I contacted the police out of curiosity. They told me that the people who work in these ice cream vans are NOT crb checked!! I was gob smacked. They told me that because these people work inside a van not outside of it, that they are not in direct contacted with the children. How are they not?? This is really very disturbing to find out these people could have any kind of background. I want to see anyone that works with children, be crb checked. These people working in ice cream vans need CRB checking, for our childrens safety!
