As students at Dr. Jorge Alvarez High School, we are concerned about our school’s lack of spirit-building events. We feel that because our school community has little school spirit, students are not motivated to involve themselves in the school and Alvarez is not recognized among Providence high schools. Therefore, we propose that the school organize the following activities: a pep rally, a spirit week, and a senior class mural, that could be hung up on a wall for the remainder of the year. These activities would encourage the student body to become more invested in their school, helping to build a stronger sense of community, and would come at low cost to the school. We ask the administration to please work with us in organizing these events.
