The purpose of this petition is to simply allow someone else to run for an office, other than the person chosen by the Executive Board of Div 32 (Humanistic Psychology) of the American Psychological Association. This office would go into effect, fully, two years from now. Five percent of the current membership must sign a petition to allow this to take place, as per the by-laws of the division. It seems that the membership of Div 32 has not been allowed to articulate its concerns, as pertaining to matters important to members of The Society (formerly known as 'the division') and the only purpose of me running is in order to bring forward those concerns. Most particularly, many of us did not agree with the dismissal of the division's 32 listserv a couple of years ago. That the current Executive Committee has not paid attention to difficulties of the membership to communicate and make their issues known can be summed up by the 5% return of the 'Communication and Technology Survey', sent out in a newsletter this past spring, which had a 5% return rate.
