The petition is to restore a non violent felons to right to bear arms. This is for non violent felons only and only after a 5 year waiting period after being released fron prison or probation. Any disqualifying conviction after restoring there rights will result in a life time ban on owning firearms. Not many know that there are lots of crimes that are considered a felony and disqualify you from owning firearms for life under federal law and alot of these are for non violent offeses. Currently under federal law there are certain white collar crimes that don't disqualify you from owning a firearm so why do non violent felonies disqaulify people?
