The community of users behind Dogecoin were successfully able to raise at least $30,000 for the Jamaican Bobsled team on 1/20/2014. There has already been extensive coverage of this charitable act:

We understand the rules for publicity and/or propaganda as outlined here:

The purpose of this petition is to show the organizers behind the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics that displaying the Dogecoin logo cannot in any way be considered publicity or propaganda. The virtual currency is completely decentralized, and is not defined by who created it, but instead by the community itself. It is, in short, a charitable organization doing a charitable act.

We believe that this charitable act is one that needs to be proudly displayed and discussed at the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics. The ideal of community driven charity and the philosophy behind Dogecoin do not in any way allow for just one person to benefit from displaying the logo at the Winter Olympics. Therefore, it would be perfectly legitimate and not against the Olympic Committee's rules to allow the Dogecoin logo at the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics.
