We live in an age of stigmas-- there's a right way to feel and think and act, and a wrong way, a flawed way. We are almost through four years of intense mental stress, during which most relief has been scarce and short-lived. Those of us who stumbled upon Allie Brosh's blog, Hyperbole and a Half, were lucky, in that it offered not only comic relief but also a genuine voice struggling with the same things many of us are. Who hasn't become more cynical in these years? Not all of us have found our piece of corn under the refrigerator, but it will be there-- and we can take comfort in knowing that relief can happen that way, and that we aren't alone. I for one want a class day speaker I can relate to. Who's with me?
