Comments: I live at number 14 Riverside Close and I have lost count at the number of times my car has been vandalised, and the children who have lived in the close have been frightened by these thugs, ( the main people who use the pathway are hooligans and thugs) causing mindless damage, the people who like to feed the ducks and admire the view usually do it from the other side where the park is anyway so it would not be taking anything away from the genuine public. Does someone need to be seriously attacked and assaulted before the path is allowed to be closed It seems to me that the councilors ( probably the minority with the power) have their priorities wrong and are more concerned (as always ) with blocking anything constructive suggested than they are with peoples safety. It is about time they stand up and be counted ! Please close this pathway off ! ! Colin Forte

Comments: I fully agree that this alleyway should be permanently closed as soon as possible. Not only is there a distinct crime aspect due to access via the alleyway to rear of properties, but the general anti social behaviour of vandals makes this closure an absolute must.

Comments: Gating the alley would make the close much more secure. We have graffiti all over our back fences and have witnessed car theft from the car park and we have only lived here 6 months! a shame for all this to be happening in such a lovely village area. Is two gates too much to ask for a bit of security and piece of mind!

Comments: Although i have only lived on the Close for just over 3 months I have suffered the fence at the bottom of my garden in Riverside Close having graffiti painted all over it. I have also had my fence broken by vandals. The alleyway often has shopping trolleys left in it and some dog owners seem to allow their dog to use the alleyway as its toilet area. I believe that Bromley Council is letting the residents of Riverside Close down by not realizing that we all have a right to personal safety and to be able to enjoy our homes and possessions. I would urge Bromley Council to listen to the residents of Riverside close and issue a Gating Order.

Comments: This alley way is very dirty. It needs to have gates put at each end. This is very harmful to the wildlife that lives in the area. We are already complaining as a whole about the pollution (via rubbish) that occurs; however, we need to make a stand to events that we can prevent. THIS IS ONE OF THOSE PREVENTIONS! Take a stand for the good of our neighbourhood!

Comments: We have lived within the close for four years and have experienced grafitti and vandalism to our back fence. The people who use the alleyway (other than residents) tend to be undesirables who use it to loiter, litter and and carry out crime under the guise of darkness. Closing this walkway will not hinder anyone other than the very type of people we are trying to keep away from our properties. The majority of the community will walk round the front of the close, especially after dark, rather than cut through the alleyway, as they do not feel safe.

Comments: We have lived in Riverside Close since 1989. During that time we have experienced a wide range of problems associated with the rear alleyway. In no particular order of importance: Cars broken into and stolen. Houses broken into using access via rear alleyway. Graffiti Dog fouling general litter fence damaged by member of public evading police capture. In fact my fence was 'graffited' only last week The only reason this alleyway is here is because the developers ( Crest ) erected it for the use of the residents. The council have shown little interest in maintaining and cleaning this path and even less to the problems of the residents. I hope we can count on your support.
