We have been campaigning for over seven years for The London Borough of Bromley Council to permanently close the alleyway that runs behind our homes. We have submitted hundreds of crime reports and photographs as evidence and we have had the ongoing support of the local Councillors and also the Village Association. Our plight has been reported in the local newspaper The News Shopper and highlighted in The Kentish Times. The Portfolio Holder for Public Community and Safety have also acknowledged that the alleyway met the identified criteria for action. Still Bromley Council refuses to issue a gating order. Some of the crimes and anti social behaviour committed are as follows: Burglary, car theft, car vandalism, trespassing, graffiti, wildlife cruelty, fly tipping, peeping toms, dog fouling, littering, illegal use of drugs, vandalism to property, intimidation and threatening behaviour. We all have a human right to personal safety and for peaceful enjoyment of our homes and possessions. It is a fundamental responsibility of the state or public authority to take appropriate steps to protect the safety of its citizens. Bromley Council are failing us and society. Please show your support for permanent closure of the alleyway by signing our petition Thank you

Hello, My name is Tina Priestman, I am 44, married and have a seventeen year old daughter. We have lived in our house for 13 years. We love our home but unfortunately living here has been blighted by the alleyway that runs to the rear of our gardens. There are 18 homes in the Close and the alleyway runs behind all of them. We have all experienced crime and anti social behaviour to varying severity as a result of the perpetrators having access to our gardens, properties and private car park via this alleyway. I was \'nominated\' by the residents to represent us all to liase with Bromley Council regarding a Gating Order. Unfortunately after seven years (and a lot of paperwork) we have still not been successful. The local Councillors have advised us to gather as much support as we can, so here I am.
