Re: Proposal to Alleviate Overcrowding in the North Side Cluster of Elementary Schools
We, the undersigned, support the Atlanta Public School's Proposal to Address Overcrowding in the North Side Cluster of Elementary Schools issued in December 2007 because it:
* Is the most fiscally responsible and logical use of existing APS properties and resources.
* Provides resources and plans for needed improvements and facilities for Smith, Jackson, and Brandon.
* Redistricts students between comparable schools, giving all impacted children the opportunity to attend a school that consistently performs at exceptional levels.
* Provides a generous grandfathering of current students and siblings of current students impacted by the redistricting.
* The least disruptive to the most neighborhoods, and the most beneficial to the most neighborhoods.
Therefore, the undersigned urges the Atlanta Board of Education to implement a final plan which is consistent with the current Proposal to Address Overcrowding in the North Side Cluster of Elementary Schools, a plan which we believe will minimize the impact on students and will allow for continued growth in the north side cluster of elementary schools.
Sincerely,
The Undersigned
