Comments: Your grammar is incorrect and reflects badly on you. "if its based" s/b "If it is based", "and everything else everybody else does no matter if their black," s/b "and everything everybody else does no matter if they are (or they're) black," ... I agree with you 100%

Comments: I currently work at a Higher Education Campus and recently overheard a conversation between the Schools Dean and a Departmental Supervisor concerning the need to fill an open position with a person of "minority" status. The explanation given was that the School receives more money for hiring someone of "minority" status. It seems to me that "qualifications", "experience" and "character" would be better decision making tools. Another recent situation involved a Human Resources departmental questionaire. As a White (caucasian) individual, my only choice for "ethnic" background was: non-hispanic. What if I were a non-African American or a non-Asian or perhaps a non-Alien Resident. In other words: Why couldn't I just be American

Comments: I would also like to voice my opinion on another matter concerning Veterans. My brother tried going and because he had a retirement account he is not eligble for medical or surgical services. He was told Congress just passed this bill. Then why do we provide health and medical to people who are not even US citizens and new in this country What is wrong with this picture

Comments: What are you stupid You have got to be kidding! Had the Euro-Americans not trampled on everyone there would'nt be a need to make laws, that put minorities on a vaguely level playing field. You should have considered everyone as equal from jump. M.R. Coleman-Patria

Comments: I second the motion. Why is being white a crime Why can't everything be equal Why do the "minorities" get special deals and not us Why can't we all be on the same level. This is reverse discrimination. And, I never owned a slave either. I am thinking maybe my life would be easier if I just started checking latino on all my documents and wearing dark foundation.

Comments: I work in the all of the schools in san diego ca.I have seen a discrimination towards myself and others that do not speak spanish! It is now expected that a school, with students coming everyday over the border go to san diego public schools, get their education in spanish.I think what is wrong with this pictureI go to work and go to these schools to perform services yet see the other side of discrimination here.It no longer is a issue of speaking both english and spanish, just spanish.I feel we are going to far the other way.I pay my taxes for the benifit of these programs, but shouldn't have to live with this unfairness that seems to be growing and thriving here in the san diego public schools.

Comments: My father was denied a promotion in a state job because a black woman - who was not qualified - was given a TRIPLE promotion because they needed a black woman in the higher ranks. My father had worked for the state for 20 years at that point, and had all qualifications necessary for the promotion. These kinds of incidents are completely unfair, especially since Louisiana has a 70% black population. Jobs should be based on qualifications, not race.

Comments: I am discriminated against daily, as I live in New York City. Asians, Arabs, Latinos, etc., none are compelled to obey the existing laws, but all whites are. The only laws minorities are compelled to obey are assault, rape, murder

Comments: I completely agree with you! I do not believe "ethnicity" should even be asked when applying to college or for college funding. Forcing universities to hold "ratios" is ridiculous. White, middle-class students are not getting a fair chance. Also, we see specific minority groups all the time, such as "miss black psu" but if a pageant titled "miss white psu" was organized, it would be deemed racist and stopped. Everything has gotten out of hand... it is nice to see my family is not alone in these thoughts.
